Lights Out

Friday night we had a whopper of a thunderstorm. The intersection flooded again, we had water half-way up the walk. A couple of lightning strikes that seem to hit in our front yard and there went the power. Not the city, not the neighbours. Just us. *I've been meaning to buy a battery operated lantern for some time now. It's now at the top of the shopping list.* Dave reported the outage around 7:30 and the power company came out and fixed the problem some time after midnight. I know because I couldn't sleep (no a/c) and I noticed the bright flashing lights outside the bedroom window. We weren't looking forward to dark, cold showers in the morning. In my head I was already lining up a hotel for the next night.
